"the extra mile"
I am a self-proclaimed slogger. I fact I've be slogging at most things at life. I've only been doing enough to get by, only what needs to be done.God woke me up early today (on my day "off") with a dream. Now I work at Fabricville and sometimes I have 'nightmares' that I still at work, perpetually cutting cloth for people-these kind keep me from really resting. This one was different. God was telling me that I need to see the finished product. I need to learn our customers names. I need to go "the extra mile." I knew that God was talking to me about more that my job. There are the things I have to do in the run of the day, and then there are the things I want to do- the dreams that God has laid on my heart concerning the church. Things that if I don't step up and do, God will begin to speak to someone else about... things that might never get done. Things I was destined for...
And it struck me that we use the term "the extra mile" sometimes, but how often do we connect it with the Author? Actually now that I look at the NIV and NKJV it says go "two miles:" [does that mean we have to do twice whats required of us?]
Now that I'm done rambling its your turn:

these are good thoughts heidi. thanks for posting them.
on a different note, how often do you feel your dreams are 'from God' so to speak. just curious.
Only when they are...
which is only once of twice a year.
cool. I recently taught thru all the 'dreams' in the Bible so I was interested :) God bless
