Dear Pastor,

Please don't use Christian theological terms I don't understand. Or at least please explain the christianese jargon. I don't know what pre-, mid- or post-trib means. And 7 years of pestilence, what's that?

Please don't say "rescue" (sinners) prayers that include things completely foreign to me. Based upon your sermon (if this was my first time in church) I don't know what it means when you say that Jesus died on the crossÂ… or what sins are. And what does Saviour mean? Salvation? I didn't know I was sorry for all the bad things I've done. In other words please explain the gospel story before you make me repeat it after you. (That means you too Joel Osteen.)

And please don't make jokes about sanctification once you've finished your sermon. The average Christian doesn't even understand whatsanctificationn is- so leave this to um...never.

Dictionary
Christianese: Christians use a lot of terms that don't always make sense. I'm sorry if church sounds like ascientificc journal to you.
Jargon: Slang or technical terms specific to a group of people.
Salvation: When one believes in Jesus and He saves them from their sins. (Sometimes called Initial Sanctification).
Sanctification: also known as Entire Sanctification. To be set apart for God...
Seeker: Someone who is searching for truth...
Sin: All the bad things some one does.
Sinner's Prayer: What non believers supposedly say to believe in Jesus. (I hate the idea down to the core.... as expressed above). Often used at the end of the sermon.

anything I missed? please comment.
