Goodnight room. Goodnight moon. [one of my favorite chidren's stories]

I am taking a leave of absence from the blogging world. I thought about last week and yesterday confirmed it. In fact I am taking a leave of absence from all unnecessary media… to spend more time with God, with friends and read books.

I leave you with an entry I wrote last week, but never successfully posted. I titled it "Randomness"

infirmity or spiritual gift? I love art. I love being creative and original. I like making things.... painting, drawing, sewing, designing... I have a vague memory of Primary (Kindergarten for you Americans) and not wanting to colour. I hated it and I have a memory of being sick for a week and going to pick up the sheets I had missed- there was also a stack I hadn't done in my desk. It was that spring/summer between Primary and Grade 1 that I asked Jesus into my life. I don't know exactly when I began to love art, but when I left North River Elementary School I was one of two or three given the Art Achievement award, and had my name added to the cumulative plaque which is probably still there.
So is it a talent? a spiritual gift? or an infirmity (procrastination) that got in the way?
Either way I love art- it doesn't matter what theological term I attach to my love of art. What matters is that I use it to worship and subsequently serve God with my ability to do art.

Pottery. My pastor sent out an email concerning a speaker/organization who will be in my hometown and then at "Jesus to the Nations" in Halifax. So I went to the web site for Interserve hardplaces.ca and under Service Opportunities found:
"Potter -Arab World- With expertise in handmade pottery to lead a quality improvement drive in Pottery business"
Sweet... maybe going to art college is feasible!

My roomate accused me of having a hand cream fetish when I ordered 6 from her (she sells Avon). Last night I cleaned out/organized my junk drawer and started counting... I think I have 18 bottles of lotion with me here at Bethany. For those of you who are nosy, I shall list them.*

Heidi, had I known you were the official lotion girl of BBC, that would have helped me out greatly in the past! All the time I spent asking other people for hand lotion, only to receive strange looks and be turned down. Would that I had known you were my Moisture Heroine. I applaud your dedication to properly moisturized skin and follow you as a moisture disciple!
