straight from my Oral Comm notes . . .
Cognitive Consitency "same in thinking, emotions and actions, when its unbalanced there is tension and either thinking or actions are changed"
Here at Bethany Bible College we belive one thing and do another.
We say one thing and mean something totally different.
We should be totally in love with our Father and yet many of us treat time with the Almighty so lighty.
The things we learn, in freshman classes at least, are so common sense. John said why not put them in a booklet, but we are such poor stewards of our time that we would never read it.
So many of our chapel services end up persuading rather than actuating. We never meditate on stuff afterwards, the average student takes every shread of information that is fed to us and believes it for truth. Its as if truth doesn't originate from the Bible.
Worship is the same . . . its more of a preformance thing, rather than actually seeking the face of God.
So are we willing to ask God if He wants to be a part of our lives?
Are we ready for change, for Him to turn our worlds upside down and inside out? Nothing to be hidden from Him? Totally transparent and usable vesels? To change our actions, so that they line up with what we say we believe?
Excuse me please, I need to spend some time doing the one thing that matters with the only One who matters.
